One of the most widely used measurements for happiness is the Satisfaction With Life Scale devised by Ed Diener and others in 1985. It asks people to score a number of statements. Take a paper and pencil and try these yourself. How would you score these statements on a scale of one to seven?
In most ways my life is ideal.
The conditions of my life are excellent.
I am satisfied with my life.
So far, I have got the important things I want in life.
If I could live my life again,
I would change almost nothing.
